Bandits in the early hours of Tuesday invaded the permanent site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna.
They reportedly killed two officers and whisked away another officer.
A source in the Academy said top officers and management of the institution were holding meeting over the incident as at the time of filing this report.
The source said: “Bandits in their large number attacked NDA Afaka and kidnapped 1 Offr; Maj Datong while Lt Cdr Wulah and Flt Lt CM Okoronwo were shot dead. 2Lt Onah sustained gunshot injury and currently receiving treatment.”
The source added the bandits originally attempted to gain entrance into the cadets hostels but were repelled and in the process killed the two officers and abducted the other.
Another source also said the the entire surrounding of the Academy has been cordoned off as the military suspect the bandits have not been able to escape from he area.
NDA Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Jajira, said an official statement on the incident will be released shortly.
NDA, the premier military university, that trains officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and some other African countries, is located on Kaduna-Lagos highway and about 10 kilometers away from the Kaduna city centre. (The Nation)
