Senate Leader Yahaya Abdullahi has reportedly dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and will be joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State today.
Abdullahi’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Muhammad Jamil Gulma, reportedly confirmed the development late yesterday in a statement.
“Senate Leader Yahaya Abdullahi will on Wednesday (today) by 9 a.m leave Abuja for Kebbi and proceed to Kamba Local Government Area to formally declare for PDP and to possibly indicate his interest to contest his present seat,” the statement said.
Abdullahi had participated in APC’s Kebbi governorship primary election in which he reportedly polled zero votes.
He has since rejected the outcome of the exercise.
It was learnt that his defection might not be unconnected with the governorship primary election.
