•••Says husband will reclaim mandate

The wife to the Incumbent Governor of Osun State, Kafayat Oyetola on Tuesday led thousands of women to rally support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

At the Osun Women Walk for Tinubu, Mrs Oyetola said that her husband, Adegboyega Oyetola will reclaim mandate at the court and serve another term.

“Oyetola’s tenure hasn’t gone, he will be governor of Osun State beyond 27th of November 2022, his mandate still continue”.

The APC faithful started the walk at Government House, Oke-Fia, moved through Alekuwodo, Olaiya, MDS  before converging at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.

Addressing the newsmen, Kafayat said ” We, Akoni Obinrin (Brave Women) in Osun are ready to vote in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria and by showing our support for them, we are targeting a million votes in the state, that’s why this walk was mobilised.

“We have seen what he has done in the past, we have seen what he has done in the country and outside the country, he is the man that can work with anybody whether Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo.  He’s a complete Nigerian without bias.

“We strongly believe that with the good works he has done in Lagos, if he wins the election he will do more and better for the people of Nigeria”.

The Osun First Lady urged women to make sure that all their votes should be cast for Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima.

“We should make sure that all our votes should be cast for Bola Tinubu. I urged everyone to go to their local government, wards to advocate for Asiwaju, we believe that if Tinubu/ Shettima comes into power, there will be transformation in the infrastructural and health sector in Nigeria”, she added.

“From the events of over-voting that occurred during the 2022 governorship election, we will ensure adequate monitoring, we will go to polling units to cast our votes, mobilise at polling units to prevent rigging or electoral malpractice that happened months ago, we are ready to monitor the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS. We will do all what it take to prevent preloaded BVAS.

In her contribution, Commissioner of Information in the State, Mrs Funke Egbemode, said “Tinubu has done well before and he will do well again, he is the man we can trust. He is the man we have detected and he is the one we can trust and let’s come out on the day of election to cast our vote for him, to ensure his victory come 2023.

The Osun chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun said, “Voters registration in Nigeria has shown that their are more female electorate voters. They have more roles to play in determining who will win election. With todays display of support by women, victory is certain for Tinubu in 2023.”

Also speaking at the event was the former Deputy Governor in Osun State, Mrs Titi Laoye-Ponle urged women to be participate actively in the forthcoming polls.

Some Yoruba movie stars were also present at the walk to show their support for the presidential candidate of the APC. Sighted by our reporter include Sola Kosoko, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Adegbola Iya Awero, among other Nollywood Actresses. ­
