The Independent Campaign Team of of Senator Ajibola Basiru has described the content of pamphlet being distributed by the senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun Central, Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla as repetition of SRJ’s programmes.
Director General of the ICT, Wale Popoola in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Saturday, said described Fadeyi as being lacking in ideas.
Popoola said “it’s amazing that the PDP members who condemned the boreholes drilled by Basiru, now have it as one of the Cardinals of their manifesto. Even though, I still want Fadeyi and his handlers to point to where the borehole he drilled in Irepodun local government is located.
“Also, he talked about fuel subsidy to commuters, it’s a known fact that Senator Ajibola Basiru has done this severally and our team has also done the same at different intervals. So, we ask why Fadeyi is only repeating our programmes?
“Also appearing in his paper programme is coaching for students. This has been a programme that we have been doing since 2019, where SRJ was firstly elected. While we know that Fadeyi doesn’t live with us to know all these, we believe a phone to Rave FM would have save him from this embarrassment of repeating what we have shown capacity of delivering even better.”
Popoola also spoke on the election results in 2019, stating that Fadeyi came a distant fourth with just a little above 1% of what Basiru had.
“Fadeyi said he put up a good fight as ADC senatorial candidate in 2019. We ask what good fight means to Fadeyi and his people. How can someone with 1,422 votes say he put up a good fight against someone with 132,821? This is just a little less than 1% of what our Principal garnered.” Popoola concluded.
