The federal high court sitting in Osogbo has declared the local government election conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, as null and void.

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel made the declaration on Friday while delivering judgement in a suit filed by the People’s Democratic Party.

The judge said the election was held in contravention of Sections 29 & 32 of the Electoral Act, 2022.

The PDP had earlier before the October 15 election approached the court to stop the OSIEC from conducting the planned election.
