The Students Progressives Movement, SPM, in Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila federal constituency on Saturday held an endorsement rally for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate, Hon Clement Akanni Olohunwa.
The endorsement rally, which was held in Ila, was led by the National President of the National Association of Osun State Students, Comrade Kazeem Adeoye and the SBM coordinator, Comrade Oguntola Damilare Dada.
The over one hour rally started at New Garage Oke-Ogbun through Ajaba junction, Ibode Junction, Atewogbade Junction, Nepa Junction, Round about and Iso Ege before it was terminated at the Palace of Orangun of Ila.
While endorsing the Candidate at the Palace of Ila Orangun, Adeoye stated that the endorsement was based on the antecedents of Olohunwa while serving at various public offices he had held.
“We, the students of Ila Federal Constituency are endorsing Hon. Akanni Olorunwa today, not only because of he’s a father figure to us all, but also he has shown great leadership skills, his past works and records have reflected on the lives of youths in the past years, it is just the right thing we give the endorsement to the right person”.
“Over the years, Olohunwa has demonstrated his readiness to serve the people. Giving of employment to people in schools, government parastatals, paramilitary and so on.
“With these records of good impacts, we endorse the Olohunwa to represent Ila Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, we believe he will pave way for students, youths when given the bigger, greater opportunity”.
Addressing Olorunwa appreciated the students for their endorsement ,stating that he never knew his past works will impact positively in the lives of people to warrant the endorsement.
“I appreciate the students who came out today for the endorsement, I now believe the saying, a man reaps what he sows, I just did what I had to do for people, I never knew it would pave this much way for me “.
Stating his manifesto, he said ” when I used to be a member of the House of Assembly, I impacted into their lives, now that I’m aiming for a bigger position, I will ensure that youths are given opportunities to work as media aides for the government, an ICT center will be built in Ila, every student that graduates, I assure you of employment.”
Olorunwa signed the VoteNotFight commitment card and also endorsed the Gain advocacy, to include women, Youths and persons with disabilities in government.
The atmosphere of the campaign was adorned with students, who chanted his name clothed with T- shirts, caps and placards of the aspiring lawmaker.
