Comrade Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, has arrived at the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office in Abuja.
This is following after the invitation from the police over allegations of terrorism financing, cybercrime and other related offences.
They arrived the facility around 10: 20am to honour police invitation and he was accompanied by human rights lawyer, Femi Falana SAN.
Labour leaders had gathered at the headquarters of NLC earlier in the morning in solidarity with Ajaero.
As early as 8am, the Labour leaders started converging on the NLC HQ to rally support for the number of workers in the country.
Videos posted on NLC’s official X handle also showed some labour leaders addressing some workers who were solidly behind Ajaero.
Channels Television gathered that the NLC President was on his way to the Force Headquarters to honour the police invitation.
The labour leaders are expected to lead a peaceful procession to the police facility where Ajaero will be interrogated in respect to allegations of terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.
There is a heavy presence of police operatives stationed few meters away from the NLC facility to maintain law and order.
On Wednesday, the General Secretary of the NLC, Emmanuel Ugboaja, told Channels Television that the Congress had directed all state chapters and affiliate members to mobilise members to support Ajaero.
According to Ugboaja, the directive also instructed members from across the states to mobilise and embark on a peaceful procession to their respective state police commands and stay there until the NLC president is out of the police interrogation
The police had invited Ajaero last week for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing, treasonable felony and cybercrime.
