The simmering tension between Fuji stars Wasiu Alabi Pasuma  and Taye Adebisi Currency, took a peaceful turn after the intervention of Fuji legends, Kolawole Ayinla aka  Kollington, and Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1.

The dispute began when Taye Currency reportedly remarked that Pasuma had imitated the style of their fellow Fuji artiste, Obesere, in the early days of his career.

Currency, feeling slighted by being labelled ‘Pasuma’s son,’ expressed frustrations over the perceived lack of respect he received within the Fuji community due to his loyalty to Pasuma.

During a live show, Currency voiced his grievances, saying, “Pasuma can’t give birth to someone my age, I can only be his younger brother. He is my boss, and I’m loyal to him, but he can’t be a father to me.”

Currency further reiterated that he was born in 1975, and had been associated with Pasuma since 1993. “Some people use this as a reason to disrespect me,” he added, emphasising that his loyalty should not diminish the respect he’s due.

Pasuma, feeling the sting of Currency’s words, responded, expressing disappointment over what he perceived as ingratitude from his protégé. The exchange between the two threatened to escalate further, drawing attention from fans and industry stakeholders alike.

Realising the potential for discord, Kollington and K1 stepped in, urging both artistes to put the matter to rest. They advised Currency to apologise to Pasuma publicly, reminding them of the importance of unity in the Fuji music community.

Heeding their guidance, Currency publicly apologised to Pasuma during a live performance, acknowledging Pasuma as his boss and reaffirming his respect for him.

Pasuma, in turn, addressed his fans, confirming that the rift was resolved. “My bosses in the game have called and asked me to stop the fight for peace to reign, and I have listened to them.

Thank you, sir, Kollington Ayinla and K1,” he said during his live show, expressing gratitude to the Fuji legends for their timely intervention.

With the public apologies and mutual respect restored, Pasuma and Taye Currency have now turned a new page, crediting Kollington and K1 for helping them preserve unity in the Fuji music scene.
