The Hight Court in Ikirun, has banned all physical gathering ahead of 2024 Ekosin Day.
Justice I. O Adeleke made the ruling in Monday in a suit filed by Prince Bowoforola Abraham the head of Iyabilolu Ruling House against Gov. Ademola Adeleke and Ten others.
The Court ruling reads, “That there should be no physical presence of people at the celebration of this year Ekosin Day.
“The fund raising can also be affected by the publication of the relevant account of No. Of Ekosin Development Association to enable donors pay into such an account.
The Court also ordered The Nigerian Police and state security service to implement strictly so that the events do not hold physically but through zoom or virtual using the instrumentality of information technology.
The Court also adjourned the case to the 3rd of March, 2025.
The ruling was delivered in the presence of several sons and daughters of the community, who were in the court to witness the proceedings.
It can be recalled that Ekosin Community, these past years, had been thrown into a huge confusion and unrest, capable of destroying the existing peace and development, over the choice and installation of a new traditional ruler in the Community.
This development follows the transition into the great beyond, of the reigning monarch. Since the demise of the last reigning mornach, attempts to install a new traditional ruler has been greeted by claims and counter claims on the rightful occupant of the vacant stool in Ekosin in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
Meanwhile, with Monday December 9, 2024, Court declarations, the status quo would be maintained by both parties, until a definite pronouncements by the judge are made.
