A Non-governmental Organisation, The Emi-kola Afolabi foundation has given out twenty bags of rice to the needy, communities, correctional centers and a host among others.

The Beneficiaries expressed thier happiness and gratitude at the foundation premises on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Speaking with the co-founder of the Foundation, Mr James Afolabi explained how they were able to sustain the momentum of giving out incentives every year irrespective of the current economy situation.

” So this year we are able to fund the usual thing, because these benefactors and benefactresses, they have never left us. Six million naira is giving us to the foundation and others continue to add up.And Mommy and myself too, the little we can save from our pension.

“We live what we call Christian poverty, so that even in our home we save electricity, so that with the Christian poverty outlook, we are able to save enough to make sure that this year’s outreach is not stunted, but we are able to make it.

Pa James also advised well meaning individuals, organisation to learn the act of giving back to the society especially to the needy.

“The advice is the same every year that those who have the money, they cannot carry the money into the grave. With the billions and billions of naira in some other very many families in Nigeria, they will not go into the grave and God knows how to take it from them.

“Let’s spend this money so that there is equilibrium in the sharing of whatever we have, Cooperate with your church, cooperate with your mosque and any organisation that wants to make life better”, he advised.

One of the Guest of honours, Engr. Adebisi Olaoye commended the NGO for doing what was best during the current economy situation.

” I can describe that what the NGO are doing is what is necessary at this time and also the best, everyone should have reasons to smile and celebrate and Emi-kola Afolabi foundation has given them the reason to.

The Beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent expressed gratitude and prayers to the foundation.
