The Speaker Jigawa state house of assembly, Honourable, Isah Idriz Gwaram has been impeached by the lawmakers.
He was impeached this morning during a plenary.
The lawmakers have elected a former speaker, who was also impeached in 2017, Honourable Idris Garba Kareka, to replace him.
The house yesterday went into a rowdy session that escalated into free for all fights and mace destruction as the now impeached speaker announced a move to amend the house rules to ban former speaker and deputy speaker to contest for the speakership.
