President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele to the Senate for confirmation of his re-appointment.

In a letter sent to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the president stated that the current tenure of Mr Emefiele will expire on June 2nd and thereby urged the Senate to confirm his re-appointment before then.

Mr Emefiele was firstly appointed by former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 to succeed the current Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was sack following a controversy over missing 20bn naira oil revenue.
