Commissioner for Youth Affairs in Osun State, Hon Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, is endorsing the forthcoming 3rd Edition of Osun Youth Conference & Award, expressing belief in its ability to serve as a platform towards engendering active youth participation and engagement.
The honorable commissioner made this endorsement during a meeting held on Tuesday in his office at the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Abere.
He highlighted the need for youth to come together and contribute their ideas, perspectives, and expertise to address the issues that concern them and shape the future of Osun State.
He added that such platforms offer suitable ground to achieve this.
In his words: “This gathering provides a platform for our youth to voice their concerns, share their ideas, and initiate positive change within our community. As Commissioner for Youth, I wholeheartedly support the conference and encourage all young individuals in Osun state to actively participate.”
The Hon Commissioner was joined in the endorsement by the State Director of Imole Youth Corps, whose organization also recognized the importance of the conference in mobilizing the youth of Osun state.
The conference, which is set to be held on February 15th, 2024, at the Osogbo Grammar School Main Auditorium Hall, hopes to host space for dialogue on a wide range of topics, including youth empowerment, education, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social issues facing the state.
It also aims to provide room for collaboration among like-minded individuals, network with influential figures, and contribute to the overall development of the state.
The commissioner called on all Osun youth to register for the conference, as registration is now open, and urged them to “be the change they want to see in their communities.”
