The Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State has granted bail to an embattled appointee of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade who is standing trial for terrorism and unlawful killing.

The trial Judge, Justice Nathaniel Ayoola Emmanuel while ruling on the suspect’s bail application on Tuesday, granted him bail in the sum of N50million and two sureties in the same sum.

According to the judge, one of the sureties must be a traditional ruler and should submit his instrument of appointment to the court registrar.

He also ruled that the other surety must either be a member of the National Assembly of level 17 civil servant, who should also submit his certificate of return or letter of appointment to the court registry.

The defendant, should deposit the sum of N50million and his national passport with the registry, he is also ordered to write an undertaking to be of good behaviour and to steer the investigation in a hid not to jeopardize his bail conditions.

Olalekan was docked on eleven counts bordering on conspiracy, terrorism, unlawful killing, arson among others was was denied bail as the court requested for a formal application from his counsel, Edmond Biriomoni, after which the matter was adjourned twice after pleasing not guilty to the charges.

Meanwhile at the hearing on Tuesday, there was heavy presence of armed security men within and outside the court’s premises.

Three police patrol vehicles were seen outside the court with most of the men inside the court complex to avoid any attack, especially on journalists who were victims at the last court sitting on March 19.
