The Muslim Political Awareness Front (MUPAF) has urged Muslims across the State and beyond to participate in politics.

This was said at its 2024 Post Ramadan Public Lecture on Saturday at Ansarudeen Central Mosque, Sabo area, Osogbo, Osun State.

The programme which was attended by hundreds of Muslims, was part of the initiative to enjoin Muslims in the state and outside the State to create interest for political participation, relevance, and profers solution to the current challenges governance in Nigeria.

The theme of the Post Ramadan Lecture was “Developmental Governance: Islamic or Democratic Approach attention gathering, which the speakers were Sheikh Daud Imran Molaasan (National President Jamaat Taawunul Muslim, Grand Mufti of Yorubaland) and Dr. Morufu Hazzan Omo Oko (Lecturer LAUTECH)

The National President Jamaat Taawunul Muslimeen Grand Mufti of Yorubaland, SheikhDaud Imran Molaasan advised Muslims to get fully into political participation as everyone is affected by all the decisions of the politicians.

“Muslims should endeavour to participate in politics as it affects all sectors of the Country and our lives as individuals, most especially in the areas of Economy, Security, Family, Cost of living, Standard of living and Unity” he said.

Adding to his contributions, Dr Morufu Hazzan Omo Oko, also advised that Muslims should be involved in politics with the full spirit of Islam, while adding that Islam supports politics in totality.

Alhaji (Chief) Dr Fatai Adesina Kolawole commended the leadership of MUPAF for consistently remain relevant in the cause of Islam in politics for the past seven years, adding that the structure of MUPAF in Osun is encouraging.

The National Coordinator of MUPAF, Alh Lukman Obembe reaffirmed the commitment of the organization in working towards electing Muslims into political offices in Osun, Southwest and by extension Nigeria at large.

He also implored the Political-Da’hawa worriors to work towards achieving the goal of producing the next Governor and other elective posts in the next election.

The Post Ramadan lecture also involved the inauguration of MUPAF Political-Da’hawa Warriors to promote the objectives of the organization across all the Local Government Areas of Osun.

The programme was attended by Imams, Alfas, Scholars, Islamic organizations and members of MUPAF across the South West including Kwara state to mark the 7th anniversary of MUPAF.

Awards were presented to distinguished personalities that their immense support and contribution towards Islamic propagation in Osun State
