The 10th Senate has rescheduled its planned resumption date from April 29 to May 6, 2025.
The adjustment was communicated through an internal memo dated April 20, 2025, and signed by the Senate Clerk, Andrew Ogbonna Nwoba. The shift is attributed to the upcoming International Workers’ Day on May 1 and to provide lawmakers more time for constituency activities.
The memo stated, “Distinguished Senators, I am directed to inform you that the resumption of plenary sittings of the Senate, earlier scheduled for Monday, 29th April 2025, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 6th May 2025. This postponement is to enable Senators to engage fully with their constituents during the Workers’ Day public holiday and beyond.”
Lawmakers are advised to take note of the new date, as the Senate regrets any inconvenience caused by the change.
The Senate had previously adjourned plenary on March 27 to allow for the Easter and Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.
