UK-based activist Dr. Sandra Duru, also known as Professor Mgbeke, has accused suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of lying about sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

During a Facebook Live broadcast monitored Thursday night, Mgbeke played audio recordings she claims expose Akpoti-Uduaghan’s falsehoods.

Mgbeke alleged that the Kogi Central senator offered her N200 million to falsely accuse Akpabio of organ harvesting.

She also condemned attempts to link Akpabio to the 2021 death of Iniubong Umoren, calling Akpoti-Uduaghan’s actions malicious and politically motivated.

“Natasha admitted she had no proof. She called Nigerians ‘gullible and hungry’ and said her goal was to bring down the ‘Yoruba government’ after four years,” Mgbeke claimed. “She’s a pathological liar on a mission to destroy men.”

She said she has submitted the recordings and related documents to US and international authorities for forensic review, claiming Akpoti-Uduaghan tried to delete the evidence.

Mgbeke also reported filing petitions with the Nigerian Police, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and international agencies, urging investigations into both the allegations against Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan’s knowledge of Umoren’s murder.

Efforts to reach Akpoti-Uduaghan for comment were unsuccessful. Her media aide, Israel Arogbonlo, initially responded but later became unreachable.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended from the Senate on March 6 after alleging marginalization. The conflict escalated when she accused Akpabio on national television of retaliating after she rejected his alleged advances.

She later brought the matter to the UN, citing salary cuts, security withdrawal, and unfair suspension.

A court has since barred both parties from making public statements pending legal proceedings. Nonetheless, Akpoti-Uduaghan recently sent a sarcastic “apology letter” to Akpabio’s office, shortly after his return from a Vatican visit.
