Crime and Metro Police identify object in Adefarasin’s video as Prohibited Stun Gun Modupeola Showunmi June 18, 2025 The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that the object resembling a gun, seen in a viral video involving Pastor Paul Adefarasin, is a stun gun—not a firearm—and is classified as prohibited anti-riot equipment. The clarification was issued in a statement shared on the command’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, following public outcry over a video showing the House on the Rock pastor holding a gun-like device while driving an unregistered vehicle. According to the police, Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily appeared at the command headquarters, cooperated with the authorities, and provided a cautionary statement during questioning. The police recovered the item seen in the footage and verified it as a stun gun, confirming it was not a lethal weapon. He has since been released on administrative bail pending the conclusion of the investigation. The police assured that the findings of the ongoing probe would be made public in due course. The statement read: “Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who voluntarily reported to the Lagos State Police Command today over the viral video showing him brandishing a gun-like object at another road user, was interrogated and gave a cautionary statement to investigators. “The object recovered from him has been confirmed as a stun gun, which is not a lethal weapon or firearm, but a restricted anti-riot device. He has been granted bail while the investigation continues.” Tags: Adefarasin Police Continue Reading Previous Previous post: Iran Arrests Five Over Alleged Online Campaign to Tarnish State Image – Links to Mossad CitedNext Next post: Three Ogun ploy students risk sanctions over alleged assault on woman Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
