Barcelona midfielder Pedri has openly criticised his team following their humiliating 4–1 loss to Sevilla in Sunday’s LaLiga clash.
Despite a consolation goal from Marcus Rashford, the Catalan giants were outclassed by the home side, leaving manager Hansi Flick’s men struggling to find form and confidence.
Speaking after the match, Pedri expressed deep frustration over the team’s performance, admitting that Barcelona failed in several key areas.
“We are lacking many things, honestly. With the ball, we didn’t know how to break their man-to-man pressure. We also lacked intensity in defence,” he said.
“The team was poor in the first half. I don’t think we’ve played this badly before. We need to be honest with ourselves.”
The defeat dealt a blow to Barcelona’s title ambitions, dropping them to second place on the LaLiga table, behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.
