The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday stormed the Maitama residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in what appears to be a move to take over the property.

The anti-graft officials, reportedly led by Folarin Dare, arrived at the scene in a convoy of about five buses. Dressed in their signature red and black jackets and heavily armed, the operatives cordoned off the area and blocked access roads leading to the residence.

The property, located at No. 2 Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street in Maitama, Abuja, was sealed off, preventing entry into the premises.

Although the EFCC has yet to issue an official statement, the action is believed to be linked to ongoing investigations into alleged financial misconduct involving the former minister.

The development adds a new twist to the legal challenges surrounding Malami, as scrutiny over alleged financial improprieties continues to intensify.
