A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Princewill Dike, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dike, a Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, made the call while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday. He expressed confidence in Wike’s political capacity, describing him as a strategist capable of leading a successful campaign for the president’s re-election bid.

According to him, Wike has consistently demonstrated strong political influence and organisational ability throughout his career, particularly during his tenure as governor of Rivers State.

Dike said that appointing Wike as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council would strengthen Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 elections, noting that the minister possesses a wide political network across the country.

He also described Wike as a hardworking politician who understands the dynamics of electioneering and campaign mobilisation.

Dike further claimed that Wike has the ability to mobilise resources and coordinate political actors capable of delivering electoral victories.

Highlighting recent political developments, he said Wike played a significant role in the success of APC candidates during the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections.

He maintained that the minister’s political experience and strategic alliances have made him a key figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Dike concluded by urging Tinubu to consider appointing Wike as the campaign council’s Director-General, saying the move would strengthen the party’s chances in the next presidential election.
