The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has stirred reactions after urging members of his church to give his phone number to anyone who kidnaps them.

Oyedepo, who spoke during a church service at the Canaanland headquarters of the ministry in Ota, said he possesses the spiritual authority to secure the release of abducted members.

A video clip of the sermon, which surfaced online on Thursday, quickly went viral across social media platforms.

“If anybody picks you, give them my number,” the cleric told the congregation.

To support his claim, Oyedepo recounted two separate incidents he described as divine interventions involving kidnapped church members.

In the first account, he said a pastor of the church was abducted and managed to pass the kidnappers’ phone to him. According to Oyedepo, he issued a stern warning to the abductors, declaring that they would die within 24 hours if the victim was not released.

He claimed that the environment became tense immediately, leading to the pastor’s eventual freedom.

In another instance, the bishop narrated how a female member who had been kidnapped declared by faith that she would regain her freedom by 7 a.m. He said although the kidnappers did not contact him, they reportedly began inflicting harm on themselves before releasing her.

Oyedepo used the accounts to encourage members, stressing that they possess spiritual authority over such situations and must learn to exercise it.

“You have been raised far above the devil. If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven,” he said.

The sermon clip, shared under the hashtag “Supersonic Sunday” on the church’s social media platforms, is believed to have been recorded days before it gained widespread attention online.
