The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) has applauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for adopting a consensus approach in its recent political decisions, describing the move as a step toward sustaining peace and stability within the party.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, ACOMORAN’s chairman, Kayode Showunmi, commended the party’s leadership for prioritising unity over internal rivalry. He noted that such a strategy would not only strengthen the party but also promote political harmony across the state.

The association particularly praised the emergence of Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the APC’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 elections. According to the union, Adeola’s selection reflects a commitment to continuity in governance and development in Ogun State.

Showunmi said the lawmaker’s track record, grassroots connection, and dedication to public service make him well-suited for the role. He expressed confidence that Adeola’s leadership would inject fresh energy into the party and improve its chances in future elections.

The union also acknowledged the role of key party leaders, including the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, and former governor, Olusegun Osoba, for ensuring a smooth and rancour-free process that led to the consensus decision.

ACOMORAN further noted that the agreement reflects a shared vision for stability and progress, urging party members and stakeholders to rally behind the decision in the interest of unity and sustainable political success.

Reaffirming its support for the APC, the association congratulated Adeola on his emergence and called on residents of Ogun State to continue backing leaders who demonstrate competence and genuine commitment to public service.

The APC had on Monday formally adopted Adeola as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections during a strategic caucus meeting held in Abeokuta and presided over by the state party chairman, Yemi Sanusi.
