Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has declared that the All Progressives Congress remains the only political party capable of governing both Kano State and Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the statement while addressing a large crowd of supporters who thronged major streets in Kano to welcome him following his return from party engagements in Abuja.

In a video that surfaced on Sunday, Yusuf dismissed the chances of opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress, insisting that no political platform could rival the APC’s strength in the state or nationwide.

“APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria, by the grace of Allah,” he said.

The governor also responded to critics who have described him as a one-term leader, maintaining that his political future within the APC is secure.

“We did one term in NNPP and left. We will do the second term in APC. There are two terms in APC, the party of the people,” he stated.

Reaffirming his loyalty, Yusuf pledged Kano State’s full support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, commending his administration’s efforts in economic reforms and infrastructure development.

“We in Kano are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election, by the grace of Allah,” he added.

The governor further assured residents of his administration’s commitment to improving key sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

He also urged eligible voters to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission to participate in the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Kano APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, described the massive turnout as a sign of strong public support for the governor’s second-term ambition.

According to reports, the governor’s convoy took several hours to move from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the Government House due to the large crowd of supporters, a journey that typically lasts about 15 minutes.
