The University of Jos has announced that its first semester examinations will now resume on April 13, 2026, following earlier disruptions caused by security concerns in Jos.
The exams, initially slated for April 1 and 2, were postponed after rising tensions in the state capital, including a deadly attack in the Angwa Rukuba community that claimed several lives.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, the university said the decision to resume examinations was reached after a management meeting held on April 3, where the security situation and its impact on students were reviewed.
According to the statement, all pending examinations will continue from April 13, starting with those earlier postponed from March 30. Students were advised to contact their respective faculty timetable officers for further clarification.
The university also assured students currently on campus of their safety, noting that security has been strengthened across the institution.
Students were urged to remain vigilant, exercise caution in their movements, and promptly report any suspicious activity to the university’s security unit.
Meanwhile, normal academic and administrative activities are expected to resume fully from April 7, as the institution continues to collaborate with security agencies to maintain peace and stability within the campus community.
