Rodri has admitted that Manchester City are closely watching the Premier League title race and hoping Arsenal F.C. drop points in the final stretch of the season.

The Spanish midfielder said City remain fully focused on their own matches but are prepared to seize any opportunity if Arsenal stumble in the race for the league crown.

With just two matches left to play, Arsenal currently sit two points above City at the top of the table, giving Mikel Arteta’s side the advantage heading into the closing days of the campaign.

Arsenal are scheduled to host Burnley F.C. in their next fixture, while City will travel to face AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

On the final day of the season, City will welcome Aston Villa F.C., while Arsenal face a difficult away trip to Crystal Palace F.C..

Speaking after City’s FA Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium, Rodri said anything can still happen in the title race, stressing that the champions are simply waiting for Arsenal to make a mistake.

He noted that being in Arsenal’s position at the top is not an easy task, especially with the pressure that comes with trying to finish a title-winning campaign.

Rodri added that City’s responsibility is to keep pushing until the very end, maintaining pressure on Arsenal and staying ready to take advantage of any slip-up in the final two rounds.
