The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has called on residents of Odo Otin Local Government Area to come out in large numbers to vote in the August 15 governorship election, assuring them that every vote would count.
Egbedun made the appeal during the “Walk to Win for Imole 2.0” solidarity rally organised by the Accord Party in support of the re-election bid of Ademola Adeleke in Odo Otin.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters and residents at the event, the Speaker described the turnout as a strong indication of the widespread support Governor Adeleke enjoys across the local government and the state at large.
He urged eligible voters not to stay away from the polls, stressing that the election would provide another opportunity for the people to renew the governor’s mandate.
According to Egbedun, the crowd that turned out for the rally reflected the confidence many residents have in the Adeleke administration, which he said has delivered visible development and people-centred governance across Osun State.
He commended party members and supporters for their commitment to the campaign, noting that the administration’s developmental projects and policies had earned it broad acceptance among the electorate.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Odo Otin Local Government said residents of the council were united in their resolve to support Adeleke’s second-term ambition.
He said the ongoing projects and infrastructural development witnessed under the current administration had convinced many residents that continuity was necessary for sustained progress in the state.
A political leader in the area, Rasak Oyelami, popularly known as KK Odo Otin, warned opposition supporters against acts that could threaten peace during the campaign season.
He specifically condemned the destruction of campaign materials belonging to Governor Adeleke, saying such actions would not change the growing support for the governor’s re-election.
According to him, attempts to remove or vandalise campaign insignia had only strengthened public interest in the governor’s second-term bid.
The party chairman, Taiwo Olatunji, also thanked residents and supporters for their enthusiastic participation in the solidarity walk.
He expressed confidence that Adeleke’s re-election would bring more development and greater dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State.
The rally drew party leaders, political appointees, members of various support groups, and residents from different communities across Odo Otin Local Government Area, turning the event into a major show of support for the governor’s 2026 re-election campaign.
