The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to return Osun State to “the path of growth, prosperity and abundance” if elected in the August 2026 election.

Oyebamiji said this on Friday as unveiled a seven-point development framework tagged PROSPER.

Presenting the manifesto to the public on Friday, Oyebamiji said his administration would be guided by transparency, accountability and people-oriented governance.

He stated that his development plan is anchored on seven pillars designed to promote inclusive growth, improve welfare and rebuild public confidence in government.

“Our agenda is built on trust and shared progress. We will ensure that every policy and programme uplifts the lives of our people and secures a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.

The APC candidate highlighted poverty alleviation, workers’ welfare and job creation as central priorities, promising targeted social intervention programmes for vulnerable citizens and prompt payment of salaries.

“Our administration will prioritise workers’ welfare by ensuring prompt payment of salaries, improved working conditions and restored dignity in the public service,” he added.

On economic growth, Oyebamiji said his government would stimulate local industries, support entrepreneurship and attract investments through strategic initiatives, including the development of key assets such as the Dagbolu Dry Port and the Ido-Osun Aviation City.

He also pledged to run an open and accountable government, with citizen-focused budgeting and regular engagement across local governments.

“From day one, we will deliver governance that is people-centred and transparent. Public resources will be used for the benefit of all, not sectional interests,” he said.

The governorship hopeful further promised to empower youths and women through skills acquisition programmes, access to funding and expanded entrepreneurship opportunities.

On security, Oyebamiji assured residents that his administration would prioritise the protection of lives and property by strengthening collaboration with security agencies and deploying technology-driven solutions.

“We will integrate local intelligence systems and support community-based initiatives to ensure peace across our cities, towns and villages,” he said.

In the agricultural sector, he pledged to boost food production through modern farming techniques, agro-industrial clusters and improved access to finance, noting that agriculture would serve as a key driver of economic growth.

Oyebamiji also outlined plans to improve education and healthcare, including investment in school infrastructure, recruitment of teachers, expansion of vocational training, and upgrading of health facilities to ensure accessible and affordable care.

He added that his administration would prioritise infrastructure development, including road networks, power supply, water systems and broadband expansion across the state.

Addressing concerns over the controversial half-salary policy implemented during the administration of Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Oyebamiji explained that the policy was necessitated by economic challenges at the time.

“I worked towards restoring full salary payments. Within months, we were able to resume full payments and sustain them” he said.

”I increased their salary four times in a year. When I came on board as the Commissioner for Finance, I joined in May,” he added.

Also speaking, the campaign’s Director-General, Oluwole Oke, emphasised the importance of technical and vocational education, noting that skilled artisans are critical to economic development.

He called for greater investment in technical colleges and skills training, arguing that not all citizens need university degrees to contribute meaningfully to the economy.

The manifesto event attracted party members, stakeholders and supporters, marking a key step in the aspirant’s bid for the Osun governorship ticket.
