Premier League giants Chelsea FC have reportedly joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray this summer.
According to reports, the Turkish champions have placed a staggering €150 million valuation on the Nigerian international amid increasing interest from top European clubs.
The latest transfer speculation comes on the heels of comments made by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle regarding Osimhen’s absence from Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
Speaking on the striker’s omission from the squad, Chelle suggested that ongoing transfer discussions influenced the decision to leave him out of the matches.
The coach explained that he preferred Osimhen to remain away from international duty while his club future remains uncertain, noting that players involved in major transfer negotiations may struggle to maintain full concentration on national team assignments.
According to Chelle, a player whose focus is divided between football and transfer talks may not be in the best position to perform at the highest level on the pitch.
However, Osimhen later moved to clarify the situation, insisting that the coach’s remarks had been taken out of context and did not accurately reflect the circumstances surrounding his absence.
