The 11th edition of Big Brother Naija officially got underway on Sunday as organisers introduced the first batch of housemates who will compete for the show’s record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.
During the live launch hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the contestants were introduced one after another, sharing details about their personalities, careers and what viewers should expect from them inside Biggie’s house.
Here are the first 17 housemates unveiled:
1. Tram
A 24-year-old streamer from Lagos, Tram says he is focused solely on winning the competition. According to him, romance and other distractions are off the table.
2. Martins
The 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State is bringing confidence and entertainment to the house. He describes himself as someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and jokingly claims he can read minds.
3. Abi
Abi, a chef and model from Osun State, says she is entering the house with confidence, humour and plenty of positive energy.
4. Chimsom Chuka
The 27-year-old pharmacist from Anambra describes himself as calm, patient and authentic. He believes he thrives under pressure and is looking forward to an exciting stay in the house.
5. Keivo
A web developer from Benue State, Keivo says he is a multi-talented individual who enjoys gaming, painting and drawing. While he is open to finding love, marriage is not currently on his agenda.
6. Mercedes
The 26-year-old massage therapist and concierge business owner from Delta State says she is bringing ambition, confidence and what she calls “boss energy” into the competition.
7. Kamsy
An event planner and gift curator, the 24-year-old says she is stylish, ambitious and not one to forgive easily. She promises to add a healthy dose of drama to the house.
8. Sultex
The 24-year-old dancer and choreographer from Lagos describes himself as outspoken and ambitious. He enjoys football, gaming, dancing and table tennis and admits he sometimes tries too hard to please people.
9. Aikou
A freelance teacher and web developer from Abuja, Aikou says he enjoys reading and values honesty. The 25-year-old is single and open to finding love again.
10. Flora
A makeup entrepreneur, Flora says she is bringing honesty, confidence and excitement to the BBNaija house. She also describes her relationship status as complicated.
11. Bells
At 22, Bells describes herself as independent, disciplined and a lover of good food. She says she is still in love with her high school sweetheart.
12. Temi Nkem
The 21-year-old says she has no plans for romance and intends to play the game on her own terms, with a clear strategy for reaching the final.
13. Gerald
Gerald, a 23-year-old on-air personality from Lagos, describes himself as talented, outspoken and determined to enjoy every moment in Biggie’s house.
14. Oyin
A sales entrepreneur and model, Oyin says she is determined to prove that first impressions can be misleading as she sets her sights on the grand prize.
15. Sheba
A fitness enthusiast and proud mother, Sheba says she is entering the house with warmth, confidence and an open mind, while remaining open to finding love.
16. Araga
The fashion model describes himself as the “last loverboy standing” and says he is in the house for the money, the experience and, perhaps, romance.
17. Ricky
The oldest among the first set of housemates at 33, Ricky is a writer from Port Harcourt. He describes himself as a “bad boy by necessity” and says he finds both literature and love equally fascinating.
Insightlinks gathered that more contestants would be introduced as the live launch show continued.
Fans can follow the reality show live on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49, while the race for the ₦160 million grand prize officially begins.
