It was a carnival-like atmosphere on Thursday as Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke commissioned a 10-span flyover at Oke-Fia Roundabout in Osogbo.
The project, which was part of the infrastructural development plan of the his administration was inaugurated by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun.
Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke expressed appreciation to the people of the State for their continued support to his administration, declaring that he would continue to deliver massive infrastructural project to develop the state.
He urged his supporters to go out en mass to vote for him, promising to deliver more if given second term.
“I thank the good people of Osun State for standing by this administration. Your support has encouraged us to deliver projects that are transforming our state. I urge you to come out in large numbers on election day and vote peacefully. If given another opportunity, we will do even more for our people,” the governor said.
Afrobeats superstar and chairman Imole youth mobilization committee, David Adeleke also known as Davido addressed the crowd. He called on residents, particularly young people, to participate actively in the forthcoming election by exercising their constitutional right to vote.
He urged voters to resist fear, intimidation, threats, or pressure that could discourage them from participating in the electoral process.
Davido also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant by following the election process to ensure that votes are properly counted and recorded.
While calling on voters to defend the integrity of their votes, he stressed that such actions should remain peaceful and lawful.
“Vote peacefully, stand firm, protect your vote, and protect Osun,” he said, adding that violence, destruction of property, and actions that endanger lives should be avoided.
The commissioning ceremony attracted a large turnout of residents and supporters, with many describing the flyover as a major addition to the state’s infrastructure aimed at improving transportation and easing traffic congestion within Osogbo.
Party leaders took turns to urge residents to come out massive for the Accord on August 15.
