The Edo State Government led by His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okphebholo has ordered the immediate shut down of all satellite campuses involving Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Umar Ikhilor, which is dated February 11, 2025, the government ordered that all academic programmes, courses and activities must henceforth be conducted at the university’s main campus in Ekpoma.

The statement stated the commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to improve the standard of university education in Edo State and this steps justified the decision of the government’s significant investment in the higher institution.

“In line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to raising the standard of Ambrose Alli University and the government’s significant investment in the institution, all satellite campuses operating outside the main campus are hereby shut down with immediate effect,” the statement read.

The governing council of the University and the management is here by instructed to ensure full compliance with the directive, the statement added.
