The Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, acquitted Abdulazeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of Aloba Oladimeji IleriOluwa, also known as Mohbad on Tuesday.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, following the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) Lagos, concluded that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
The court also cleared music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, of any involvement.
However, the DPP announced it will proceed with the prosecution of Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, one of Mohbad’s friends, for reckless and negligent acts.
These charges are in violation of Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015. The two will face trial at the Magistrate Court.
