Nigerian television personality, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has spoken candidly about her battle with depression and suicidal thoughts during her time as host of Your View on TVC.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Afolabi-Brown revealed that she struggled with feeling stuck in her career after 12 years on the popular talk show.

“I was depressed. At a point, I was suicidal. I walked on the express, hoping a car would hit me. It was that bad,” she recounted.

She explained that although she had long considered leaving Your View to pursue new opportunities, she struggled with uncertainty about her next steps.

“It was when we [TVC] celebrated ten years that I knew it was time to move on to the next thing. I had been harbouring that thought for a while, but I didn’t know how to go about it. Last year, I finally had that light-bulb moment,” she said.

Afolabi-Brown formally resigned from her role earlier this year, marking the end of an era for the show she had anchored since its inception.
