Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has praised Ademola Lookman after the Nigerian winger made a dream start to life at the club.
Lookman wasted no time making an impact, scoring a goal and providing an assist on his debut as Atletico Madrid cruised to a dominant 5–0 victory over Real Betis in their Copa del Rey quarter-final clash on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles forward grabbed Atletico’s third goal of the game before setting up Griezmann for the fourth, capping off an impressive all-round performance. He featured for 79 minutes before being withdrawn by manager Diego Simeone.
Reacting after the match, Griezmann said it was crucial for new signings to settle in quickly and enjoy positive moments with the team.
“Regarding Lookman, the idea is to enjoy the new players and allow them to give us nights of joy like this one,” the French forward said.
