The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will rise above the challenges of corruption, drawing inspiration from the message of Easter.

In his Easter message delivered in Abuja on Saturday, Olukoyede congratulated Christians nationwide and urged Nigerians to reflect on the deeper meaning of the season.

He described Easter as a symbol of triumph over trials and adversity, noting that its message is particularly relevant to Nigeria’s ongoing fight against corruption.

According to him, just as Easter represents victory over suffering and death, the country can also overcome the burden of corruption and emerge stronger.

“The message of Easter reminds us that victory over trials, corruption, and even death is possible. As a nation, we will overcome these challenges. Corruption does not define us, and it will not defeat us,” he said.

The EFCC boss encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to trust in the commission’s efforts to tackle economic and financial crimes.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to intensifying its anti-corruption drive, stressing that the fight requires the collective support and cooperation of all citizens.

Olukoyede also called on Nigerians to embrace the values associated with Easter sacrifice, renewal, and righteousness, adding that these virtues are essential for building a transparent and accountable society.

He concluded by urging citizens to play their part in promoting integrity and supporting efforts aimed at creating a corruption-free nation.
