Chelsea FC have parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior just three months after his appointment, following a disappointing run of results in the Premier League.

The decision comes after the Blues suffered five consecutive league defeats without scoring, a run the club had not experienced since 1912.

Rosenior, who joined Chelsea in January on a five-and-a-half-year deal, managed just 11 wins from 23 matches across all competitions during his short spell in charge.

His final game was Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, a result that left Chelsea seventh on the table and dented their hopes of securing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Speaking after the defeat, Rosenior described his team’s performance as “indefensible” and “unacceptable,” amid growing frustration from travelling supporters who called for his dismissal.

In a statement, Chelsea acknowledged Rosenior’s professionalism during his time at the club but said the decision to relieve him of his duties was based on recent performances falling below expectations.

The club added that while the decision was difficult, it was necessary as they aim to salvage their season and push for a strong finish.
