Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, has reportedly held talks with officials of Galatasaray as interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continues to intensify across Europe.

Berta was seen attending Galatasaray’s recent match, fueling speculation that Arsenal are stepping up efforts to sign the in-form forward. The 27-year-old has been in impressive form this season, strengthening his reputation as one of the most complete strikers in world football.

Reports suggest the Arsenal chief travelled to Turkey for discussions with Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek, with Osimhen believed to be the central focus of the meeting.

The development has also stirred reactions in Turkey, where journalist Serkan Korkmaz insisted that Arsenal’s interest is firmly on the Nigerian international.

“Arsenal’s target is Osimhen,” Korkmaz said, adding that the meeting between Berta and Özbek took place privately and centred on the striker.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Osimhen comes amid concerns over their attacking consistency this season. Despite competing strongly in the Premier League and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the club has faced criticism over their finishing in front of goal.

Summer signing Viktor Gyökeres has struggled to deliver consistently, increasing the need for a more reliable goal scorer.

Osimhen further underlined his quality with a standout display in Galatasaray’s 3–0 victory over Fenerbahçe in the fierce Intercontinental Derby. He opened the scoring just before half-time and played a key role in securing the win, a performance watched by scouts from several top European clubs.

The Nigerian striker has now recorded 13 goals and four assists in 20 league appearances this season, building on an outstanding previous campaign in which he netted 37 goals in 41 matches.

With his stock rising steadily, Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after forwards in European football, and Arsenal appear to be among the clubs leading the race for his signature.
