The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international passports on or before August 7 to facilitate the timely processing of travel documents.

The directive was issued by the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, in a statement released on Tuesday by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Dederi, in Kano.

According to the statement, the passport submission exercise commenced on August 3 as part of preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Ibrahim-Matawalle explained that the early collection of passports would enable the board to begin documentation and other administrative procedures required for a smooth Hajj operation.

He noted that prompt submission is essential to ensure travel documents are processed on time and to meet deadlines set by the relevant authorities.

The Director-General urged all registered pilgrims to comply with the directive within the stipulated timeframe to avoid delays that could affect their participation in the pilgrimage.

He also reaffirmed the board’s commitment to organising a seamless and hitch-free 2027 Hajj exercise, while appealing to intending pilgrims to cooperate with officials throughout the preparation process.
