The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has fully activated its structures across the state and is set to lead an intense grassroots campaign to secure a second term for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Wednesday, Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, said the party’s machinery has been energised down to the ward level, with plans to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda into every community and polling unit across the state.
He described the launch of the presidential campaign as the start of a more intensified push to build on the party’s gains, reinforce its mandate, and deliver victory in 2027. According to him, the party has kept up steady engagement at the grassroots, holding ward meetings and stakeholder consultations across all 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos. He added that women’s groups, youth associations, market unions, community leaders and artisans have all been drawn into the mobilisation effort to ensure broad participation.
Ojelabi expressed confidence that Lagosians would easily connect with the party’s message, pointing to what he called tangible development already on ground in the state, from the now-operational Blue Line and Red Line rail projects to ongoing road construction, urban renewal work, and various human capital initiatives.
He also highlighted the Tinubu administration’s record at the federal level, citing the removal of the fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, and broader fiscal restructuring, alongside investments spanning infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and social development.
Among the projects he referenced were several major road schemes: the 1,068km Superhighway, the 750km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, the 114.5km Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road, the 465km Calabar-Abuja Superhighway, the 700km Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Biu-Maiduguri Superhighway, and the 275km Sokoto-Gusau-Funtua-Zaria Road.
He said the federal government continues to pursue policies designed to attract investment, boost Nigeria’s economic standing globally, and make it easier for businesses to grow and create jobs and that the 2027 election gives the APC an opportunity to put its record before Nigerians and make the case for continuity.
For Lagos APC, Ojelabi said the task ahead is clear-cut: get the message to the people, ward by ward, community by community. He said the party intends to go beyond campaigning to actually connect its governance record with residents, turning political organisation into real electoral strength on election day.
He called on party members to stay committed to the mobilisation drive, expressing confidence that with its grassroots structure, experienced leadership and track record, Lagos APC is well-positioned for the task ahead.
“The structure is standing, the campaign has begun, the mobilisation has begun, the engagement has begun. The journey to victory has begun,” he said.
