•••Party members dissociate selves from TOP Group
Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Atakumosa East local government area of Osun State have endorsed Governor Gboyega Oyetola for another term.
This decision was made on Wednesday as thousands of party faithful gathered at Ipinrindo, headquarters of the local government. The APC members also endorse the State Party Chairman, Gboyega Famodun for another term, while dissociating themselves from activities of The Osun Progressives, (TOP).
The APC members, who were drawn from all wards, said the “tremendous achievements of Governor Oyetola in health sector, education, infrastructures and human capital development are the reasons behind their endorsement.
The leaders said that the development of Osun under Oyetola has been on fast track and they believe that another term for him will take Osun to promise land.
Moving the motion, the Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon Taiwo Akeju said the party leaders had held an extended meeting last Tuesday, and they have agreed to work for the re-election of Governor Oyetola come 2022.
Akeju said, “we’re here as party members in Atakumosa East local government. After an extended leadership meeting on Tuesday, May 25, the party leadership agreed to work for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for another term and for the Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun to continue his work. The party leadership also dissociate ourselves from the activities of the splinter group called TOP. We are not for TOP, we are for the APC and Oyetola.
“It’s on this note that I move that all APC members in Atakumosa East local government adopt this decision. I so move.”
Seconding the motion, the Director General of IleriOluwa Campaign Organization, Hon Ajibola Famurewa; The lawmaker representing Atakumosa State constituency, Babatunde Festus Komolafe and the Commissioner for Rural Development, Segun Olanibi and the immediate past Chairman of Atakumosa East local government, Olufemi Ikujembola all lauded the achievements of Governor Oyetola in the last two-and-half years.
Also present were former State Treasurer of the party, Chief Kunle Odeyemi; Ajewole Babatunde, Ganiyat Oladejo and many more.
