A woman coming from a mechanic on Saturday plunged her Toyota Camry into Osun River around Old Governor office, Ogo-Oluwa area, Osogbo throwing residents of the area into panic.
According to an eyewitness, the accident happened at about 11:45.00 a.m. as the woman was coming from Ogo-Oluwa area heading towards Olaiya.
The source said the car skipped off the Gbodofon bridge into the Osun River.
It was gathered the woman was rescued by local swimmers around the place.
“Thank God the driver came out unhurt while no life was also lost in the accident,” he said.
The woman was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for intensive treatment after she was rescued. Her car was later removed by operatives of fire services who wete invited onto the scene.
Meanwhile, residents of the area have been praising the effort of local swimmer who rescued the driver.
