A ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Sapele, Delta State, identified as Peter Agboghoroma, popularly known as Okponughari, is dead.

It was, however, gathered that some family members have been insinuating that he was poisoned at a social gathering he attended on Sunday.

The politician was said to have died on Sunday, shortly after returning from a party he was invited to by a friend.

It was gathered that when he was rushed to a private hospital in Sapele, the doctor pronounced him dead on arrival, saying he died of a heart attack.

But family members were said to have gotten the notion that he was poisoned at the party he attended earlier in the day.

Other sources claimed that he died as a result of High Blood Pressure as he was said to be vomiting white foam known to be associated with such patients.

Meanwhile, his corpse had not been deposited in the mortuary as one of his daughters reportedly said that their late father, before his demise, instructed them not to put him in the mortuary after his death.

In the meantime, PDP leaders and members have been visiting the deceased’s residence to commiserate with the family.

Some of the early party men to pay a condolence visit to the family on Monday were Richard Randy, Hon Stanley Kogoro, Hon Nasiru, Hon Ajamikoko Lucky, Hon Frank Nujimen, and Hon Ovo Abeke, among others. (The PUNCH)
