In confirmation of the earlier report by InsightMedia, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has stated that the supplies to its network by the generation companies have drastically reduced, thereby leading to reduced supplies to consumers.
Accordingly to an unsigned statement by the IBEDC public relations department, the low supplies has affected electricity consumers in Osun, Kwara, Oyo, parts of Kwara and Ekiti.
The statement read, “Due to low generation, the weekly average power allocation to our network by TCN was 368.5MW compared to the 692.5MW expected.
“This has led to massive load shedding across our franchise (Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun & Kwara Regions).
“Kindly bear with us as we work with stakeholders in the electricity valuechain on a sustainable resolution. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.”
Residents of Osogbo, Ede, Ilobu, Erin-Osun and some other parts of Osun State have been lamenting poor power supply in the recent time. They said the low supply has continued to impact negatively on their businesses.
