Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi have initiated a peace move between the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his estranged political godson, Rauf Aregbesola.
The leaders of Yoruba race met on Tuesday March 1, 2022, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to resolve the crisis that has continued to affect the fortunes of the All Progressives Congress in the southwest.
The meeting, which held at a private residence of the Alaafin of Oyo in Ibadan, lasted about two hours.
The monarchs and other notable Yoruba leaders met with the Minister of Interior as first step towards finding a lasting reconciliation between the two.
After consultations, the leaders agreed to move to the next stage of the meeting which will be held at a later date.
