It appears peace has started reigning between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and a Chieftain of the main opposition party in the state, Congressman Bimbo Daramola.

A subtle enmity had ensued between the duo politicians in the build up of the recently held primary election of the party.

But in a statement posted by Daramola, a former member of the House of Representatives, on his Facebook wall on Tuesday, he revealed that “amity” has been restored between himself and the former minister.

He berated those who had been making unguided and spurious remarks in order to escalate the already settled disagreement.

Daramola however appreciated the efforts of those who restored amity between himself and Fayemi saying that “to all the eminent personalities within and without who have gone out of their ways to restore amity between brothers, I want to thank you all. May God bless you all Sir(s) and Ma(s).”

“I APPRECIATE you all and i will hate to dissappoint you. I’m guided by the fact that politics will come and go but #omoluabi can never go out of season.

“And much as i would have loved to skip the #agboroduns and #arijenidimadarus, i really have just one thing and word for you, sympathy!

“Much as you need time to reflect on your personal lives and ask questions about where you are headed; how impactful your own lives have been and how to also make your lives worthy and count, you are preoccupied with innanities.

“One thing is clear, no matter how partisan you may be, and trying to be more catholic than the pope, your lousy posts and irreverent comments cannot vitiate my humble reputation, that i have earned as a die hard party man, selfless, and committed. I challenge you to come with yours.

“I dont rely on facebook to amplify my commitment and loyalty to whosoever or whatsover, neither do i need rants to prove any point.

“Humbly speaking I know who I am. I am not afraid to stand alone if my conviction validates that.

“Politics is not a meal ticket for me. God has been gracious to me and the way to appreciate God is to lift others out of despondency and despair.

“Herein lies the big picture, vision that unfortunately cannot find a place in little locked minds.

The bigger picture of politics that will make life more fulfilling for the greater majority is more important than self,” he said.

Daramola then declared his support for NJ the candidature of Fayemi and also called on other party members to ensure he coasts to victory at the poll.

The post further read, “My 16 years record as a party man with episodic presence at crucial moments in the trajectory of the evolution of today APC cannot be annulled by empty rants and posts, and does not need Facebook validation, so also today ,and regardless of all that may have happened in the last one month , I am sure H.E #Kayode #Fayemi sure has deeper understanding and reflections. He knows me more than your posts and tweets.

“All the oppositions within and without will need 40years to cancel who i am to him and who he is and has been to me and vice versa.

“For those who do not understand me, I am guided and driven by the twin of conscience and conviction, not crass opportunism that is the interpretation of politics today over and above impactful service.

“My faith also further enjoins me to be at peace with all men as much as it is in my power to do. This also is intergral to my essence in life.

“And guided by and standing on these twin virtues, i have made that decision that we will join other sincere persons and groups to work for our candidate H E Dr Fayemi and our party, APC and without doubt i can still say JKF is still Better by Far.
