Former House of Representatives Aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and now Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Engr David Ayodele Asalu has said he has no regrets joining the APC, stating that his former party didn’t appreciate his efforts.

Asalu, who insisted that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will reclaim his mandate at the Court, said he has forgiven everyone that betrayed him while in the PDP.

The Ejigbo-born politician said this on Wednesday during the second phase of empowerment programme for people of Ejigbo local government area.

The empowerment programme was held at the farmers secretariat in Ejigbo, had 200 persons given grants to help start up their business plans or to sustain existing businesses.

Asler, as fondly called, said the empowerment programme was to assist the needy of the communities, so they could have means of livelihood to take of themselves and thier families.

” I have always been moved by the zeal to help others who truly need help, in every way I can, I believe the state will grow if everyone has a business he or she does, and I pray for the grace to do more “.

“Anytime I give out to people, God has always replenished back in multiple folds, so why resist the need to help, when you have the power and resources to do so” ,he added.

“Well, honestly I’d say it boldly and confidently, I have no regrets whatsoever. There were things we did for the party then that they couldn’t appreciate, but here I am where little things are greatly appreciated.

“I’m a party man to the core, even if the opposition party offers me a Senatorial ticket, I can’t leave my present party, and I know that Governor Oyetola will reclaim mandate and continue his tenure as the Governor of the State “, he explained.

“Come February 2023, we are supporting our party’s Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima. Asiwaju will become the President of the Federation, because he’s the right and the most eligible candidate to rule the country “, Asalu added.

Speaking on the sustainability plans of the philanthropist, he said ” there will be a foundation called Falade Ayodele Foundation, and under this foundation, we will giving out jamb and neco forms to 400 students across Ejigbo, to help them achieve their dreams”.

He, therefore, advised the beneficiaries to spend the money given to them wisely to get the necessary things needed for their businesses to help them make a means of livelihood for them and their families.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus, commended the good works of the philanthropist and advised the beneficiaries to spend the money wisely.

“Ayodele Asalu is someone that is not even aspiring for any political post now and yet he does this great works, he’s truly a man of goodwill. He just empowered some farmers yesterday and now giving cash benefits to the needy, this is what every capable person should do.

“The beneficiaries should spend the money wisely, we know how the country is now, so for someone to give out cash benefits, I think they should appreciate the efforts by making the money multiply into folds”, he added.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude by appreciating Ayodele for his good works and promised to utilise the money wisely.

Candidate of the APC for Osun West Senatorial District, Dr Amidu Tadese commended Asalu for his philanthropic act and urged the beneficiaries not to lavish the money but spend it wisely on thier businesses.

InsightMedia reported that Asalu on Tuesday empowered no fewer than 132 farmers with farm implements.
