The Osun People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that it has confidence in the Nigeria judiciary as the Court of Appeal is set to give its verdict on the appeal filed by Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Independent National Electoral Commission over the last year’s governorship election.
The PDP in a statement by the Acting Chairman of the party, Dr Akindele Adekunle on Thursday in Abuja reassured party members of favourable outcome.
“We want to call on our party members to remain calm in their anxiousness for tomorrow’s appeal court ruling regarding the case between the Governor and our party, against the defeated opposition in the state.
“We have strong confidence in God and the judiciary to uphold the tenet of fairness and justice in the case presented before the Lord Justice of the appellate court.
“Osun people have repeatedly shown who they preferred to govern them and like the popular maxim says, ‘vox populi, vox dei’, (the voice of the people is the voice of God).
“Notwithstanding the wishful thinking of the rejected party and her evil elements over the popular mandate with Governor Ademola Adeleke and Osun PDP, we have a strong belief, that nothing will truncate the will of God over Osun, because God still rules in the affairs of men.
“As a party, we thank you all for your support from all our well wishers, we urge you to remain calm and by God’s grace, victory is ours. However, let’s continue interceding for God’s favour over our dear state nonstop”, the chairman affirmed.
