The Management of Insight Multi-Links Media, has stated that it stands on its report on N47.8m vehicle purchased by the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State for private use of the Chairman of its council, Mr Emmanuel Jakada.

According to a statement by the Editor-in-chief, Jare Tiamiyu, the Osogbo-based media outlets, described the rebuttal by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Sola Lawal as an attempt to hide the truth from the public.

The statement reads, “We won’t engage with the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Sola Lawal who was asked specifically if there was a purchase of any vehicle by our reporter before the report was published, but couldn’t provide ab answer to the question. All we have for him is pity.

“According to Lawal, the vehicle was a “utility vehicle” for the office of the Chairman, we wish to ask the Polytechnic’s management the whereabouts of the vehicle between Monday and Thursday (June 19 to June 22, 2023) when Mr Jakada was on campus for a Council meeting. When last was the Prado V6 Jeep seen on the campus?

“As regards the price of the vehicle, documents within our disposal showed the contract was awarded on December 21, 2021 to Umarana Motors Limited at a contract sum of N47,859,000.00. The payment was made to the company on January 14, 2022. We challenge the management and its Spokesperson, Sola Lawal to come out with actual figure. In fact, this would have been more dignified than seeking just play with words.

“Lastly, we maintain that the vehicle has been put into private use by the Chairman of the Council since it was taken away from the campus.”

InsightMedia reinstated its commitment to ethical journalism devoid of sensationalism and half-truths.

“To our esteemed readers, we promise to continue holding the tenets journalism as we shall continue to expose frauds in the system. We have never indulged in half-truths and we won’t entertain such”.
