No fewer than nine petitions were submitted to the screening committee of the People’s Democratic Party against aspirants seeking the party ticket in Osun governorship election.

InsightMedia recalls that the screening was held for six contenders who obtained the party’s nomination form lats Wednesday at the party national headquarters in Abuja.

Sources familiar with the development told InsightMedia that a total of 9 Petitions were submitted to the PDP Screening Committee before the recently concluded screening of six Aspirants.

It was gathered that four petitions were submitted against Ademola Adeleke and they bothered on lack of capacity, multiple identities, false information and the existence of too many litigations against his candidacy.

Sources added that three of the petitions were submitted against Akin Ogunbiyi and they were alleging the Insurance guru of anti-party activities, misleading the general public and so on.

Nephew of Ademola Adeleke, Mr Bamidele Adeleke also had a petition against him. He was alleged of non-membership of the PDP at Ward level and setting up of parallel Ward Executives in his ward.

Former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, also had a petition against him alleging him of setting up a parallel Ward Executives in his ward.

It was gathered the no petition was submitted against the duo of Omooba Dotun Babayemi and Mr Sanya Omirin.

All petitions were struck out by the screening committee on grounds of being speculative and lacking in facts.
